In this way, we will cover all of the TAAS Targets by the Winter break.
We will repeat the sequence with different materials during the spring
          semester.

Daily Lesson:    These will use the text and other resources as needed.  These will be presented approximately in the order recommende by Project Clear.  Because of this we will be "skipping about" in the textbook.  During this time we will make extensive use of manipulative learning tools.  It is important that our class receive ample parental support in helping our students learn to utilize these valuable learning tools in a constructive manner.

Mad Math Minute:  This is a speed drill review of basic skills.  Often, students who know how to do basic operations lack the facility that enables them to see patterns.

Homework:  Because retention requires reinforcement, students will have homework every class period.  This homework will usually be connected to the lesson for the day but will occasionally relate to practicing basic skills.  We always reserve the last 10 minutes of class for students to begin their homework.  This is not optional.  Students need to begin the application of a new skill immediately if they hope to develop skill and understanding.

Grading policy:      Tests:             40%
                                Quizzes         30%
                                Homework    20%
                                Class work    10%

There are about 22 class days each 9 week grading period.  Most days there will be two classwork grades and one homework grade.  There will be three quizzes and three tests each grading period.
